Microsoft All Set to Take on Google in the Cloud Battle

Hybrid cloud

Today both enterprises and SMBs in India are exploring online or hybrid models in order to realize an improved bottomline. Further, the enterprise segment will leverage a combination of on-premise and cloud-based solutions to bring about efficiencies and consistency in experience across diverse locations. The SMB segment is likely to embrace the cloud model even more readily to help them grow business and reduce IT-related capex.

Saju Kutty, Practice Manager, Microsoft Cloud Computing Practice, Infosys technologies, said, “Customers have also started inquiring about building a hybrid model with MS Online Services to see how they can host the offering in their data center to take advantage of both on-premise and cloud services.”

Elop added, “We don’t expect the enterprises to completely migrate to the cloud. There would be hybrid models and perhaps e-mail would be the initial candidate for the cloud.”

Venkataraghavan SK, GM-Infrastructure Availability & Microsoft Business Unit-India & Middle East, opined, “Indian consumers are well acquainted with the Microsoft interface and are more comfortable working with an online suite from Microsoft rather than a low-cost third party product. We are seeing a great amount of interest both from SMBs and enterprises for MS Online Services.”
