"A major accomplishment is Xansa’s global delivery model"

Gurinder Vir Singh,
CIO,
Xansa India

Industry Experience: 23 plus years

Education: Bachelor of Engineering (BE) with specialization in Electronics & Communication

Journey towards Xansa: At Xansa, I am responsible for managing the information flow framework and providing strategic technology direction to the company. Prior to Xansa, I led the offshore global infrastructure services for external clients at CSC. I was also responsible for initiating the CSC GIS offshore service capability in India. Over years, I have gained experience in areas like service delivery management, development of processes and organization governance, budget management, IT Procurement, Technology & Strategy Development and IT infrastructure delivery.

Achievements: The toughest phase in my career was my tenure with Pertex Computer Ltd (PCL) during 1996 -97.  It was a tough time for the IT industry as well.
At Xansa, I have reached a position which can be considered as the top most position in our profession. My biggest achievement with Xansa is making India a global hub for our IT operations.  Earlier, IT operations were controlled by our UK office.
Another accomplishment is Xansa’s global delivery model.  We are now on the improvement curve. However, Xansa’s strengths in business continuity, disaster recovery and planning are also great success stories in their own right.

Strictly voluntary: I conduct motivational sessions for Xansa employees, my IT team and also for students where I talk about the scope of possibility and how individuals can overcome stress.

Interest: Reading Spiritual, religious and motivational literature. Dr Robert Schweller is my favorite author.

Passion: I am a fitness enthusiast and (try to) never miss a workout everyday. I am also fond of Indian cooking.  I have two cars - a Tata Innova and Hyundai Accent CRDi.  I use my Tata Innova for long drivees, especially to drive down to Punjab my native place.
