SnapLogic Adds Amazon EC2 Support In Data-Integration Tools

SnapLogic's technology maps data from one source to another, letting companies create new types of Web applications and mashups.

By Antone Gonsalves, July 14 2008, 1000 hrs

SnapLogic has introduced a version of its open-source data integration tools for the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, a service in which the online retailer leases its infrastructure for hosting Web applications.

SnapLogic's technology maps data from one source to another, letting companies create new types of Web applications and mashups. The company provides connectors to some software-as-a-service sources, including Salesforce and SugarCRM.

SnapLogic last week added a version of its technology for Amazon EC2. The company is selling two separate bundles. The SnapLogic Enterprise Subscription includes 25 licenses and either a silver, gold or platinum technical support plan. Pricing starts at $25,000 a year.

The SnapLogic Developer Subscription includes six licenses, a silver technical support plan and three days of training for two developers. The bundle costs $9,000 a year.

SnapLogic is among a number of startups offering technology for integrating a software service with on-premises software. Others include Boomi, which offers technology to integrate SaaS and on-premise software via the Web and Cast Iron Systems, which sells appliances programmed to let companies integrate onsite applications with a SaaS product.
