Aladdin’s Copy Protection Now with Linux Support

NWC News Network, Jun. 24 2008, 1300 hrs

Aladdin Knowledge Systems, an information security provider specializing in authentication, software DRM and content security, has announced that Aladdin HASP SRM, the first fully-integrated software- and hardware-based copy protection and licensing solution, now supports Linux.

Software publishers developing products for the Linux operating system can now take advantage of unique Cross-Locking capabilities that combine strong copy protection, unmatched IP protection and secure licensing using HASP SRM hardware-based security for individual keys or product activation in a network environment. Featuring both protection API and a Linux Envelope for automatic file-wrapping, the solution provides publishers of Linux applications with the highest available level of software security. Software developers currently using HASP HL for Linux will also gain a significant increase in security with this product.

“With this product, Aladdin provides software developers an efficient means to stay ahead in the dynamically changing software market,” said Shailendra Sahasrabudhe, Country Manager, Aladdin Knowledge Systems, India. “Adding Linux support to the already available Windows and Mac OS support demonstrates Aladdin’s commitment to providing a business-enabling software DRM solution to developers using all major operating systems.”

Linux support further enhances the HASP SRM offering, which last month won the Software and Information Industry Association’s coveted CODiE Award, as well as the Computer Technology Industry Association’s 2008 SoftwareCEO Innovation Award.
