WatchGuard Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with Dell India under which the latter will provide WatchGuard’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) network security appliances along with its computer systems.
WatchGuard will collaborate with Dell to share resources to reach out to about 500,000 SMBs across India.
“We expect our business to grow through this partnership and assume 25% business coming from Dell,” said Sunil Sapra, Country Manager, India & SAARC, WatchGuard Technologies. “We had a relation with Dell in the US, so we thought of extending that in India too. We already have 10 common customers and this quarter we expect this number to reach 40-50.”
Under the agreement, Dell will offer WatchGuard Firebox X UTM appliances as part of its solution offerings. In addition, WatchGuard and Dell will jointly develop marketing and business development plans to reach businesses nationwide.
UTM appliances constitute 95% of WatchGuard’s revenue, which grew by 150% in the second quarter of this year. Going forward, the company plans to focus on its SSL VPN product line as well.
