Wipro and Trend Micro To Jointly Offer Cloud Security

With the partnership, Wipro becomes a global reseller of all Trend Micro products and will offer the company’s products as a managed security service

InformationWeek News Network, February 04, 2010

Trend Micro has recently announced its partnership with Wipro Technologies to jointly develop virtualization security solutions that will help secure both private and public cloud environments. The two companies will provide joint virtualized data center security, as well as datacenter consolidation solutions using next-generation security products from Trend Micro and other mutual partners.

The initiative will align with current services from Wipro such as data security, managed security monitoring, managed network and host infrastructure security operations, and managed unified threat and vulnerability managed services. As a Trend Micro global reseller, Wipro will offer products that encompass threat management, Web, messaging, server and endpoint security.

"By working closely with Trend Micro, we will be better able to address the operational security requirements of our datacenter customers, and meet their business demands for efficiency and cost savings," informed Prasenjit Saha, Vice President and Global head, Enterprise Security Solutions, Wipro. He further added, “Wipro's expertise in providing end-to-end security services combined with Trend Micro's host and virtualization security solutions for datacenter security requirements will help customers to better protect their critical data, as well as ensure compliance with PCI and other regulations."

As part of this strategic agreement, Wipro and Trend Micro are also jointly building Centers of Excellence to address the data protection, security and compliance needs of today's virtualized datacenters, as well as the growing market demand for server consolidation.
