IBM Leads with Rational in the India Application Development and Deployment Software Markets


IBM emerges as leader in the India Quality and Life Cycle Tools market

 NC News Network, July 3 2009, 1000 hrs

IBM today announced that it has maintained the lead in the India Application Development and Application Deployment Software market with a 30.5 percent share in revenue terms during the period of January to December 2008, as per IDC’s India Annual Packaged Software Market Report 2008. As per the same report, IBM also stood as the leader in the India Quality and Life Cycle Tools market during calendar year 2008.


 

Key Highlights

  • IBM maintained the No.1 position in the India Application Development Software market with a 33.4 percent share in revenue terms during calendar year 2008.
  • IBM led the India Application Deployment Software market with a 27.3 percent share in revenue terms during calendar year 2008.
  • IBM emerged as the leader in the India Quality and Life Cycle Tools market with a substantial share of 57.9 percent in revenue terms during calendar year 2008, gaining 4.8 points market share year-on-year (2008 over 2007).
