It's not always that magazine editors get to go on a sabbatical. I suppose I was lucky to have been away for a while. The good thing about it was the break in itself and also the opportunity to look at the world through an altogether different pair of glasses. The bad part of it was I missed this monthly conversation of ours. So what has changed in four months? I am sure few of you would have missed the CMP logo on the top left of our masthead on the cover. It means that CMP, the world's leading publisher of both print and online technology publications, is now in India. It also means that Network Computing today is part of a larger, global media organization with unhindered access to its US parent's intellectual capital and all the advantages that come with it. In the months to come we intend to take your favorite magazine to the next level while putting together a bouquet that brings you immense value through varied perspectives and insights. The idea is to save you the information clutter and help you navigate through hype so that you know what to (and what not to) expect out of a technology, a product or a service. We believe there are few brands in the IT publishing domain in India (or elsewhere for that matter) that can provide you as many resources as Network Computing can, be they reviews, or comprehensive comparative tests of various classes of hardware, software and peripherals, or in-depth stories, analyses and research—and all of these in one single package. To add to this, we'll continue to bring you best-of-breed IT deployment case studies in India, technology adoption trends, and perspectives from the Indian user community as well as the industry. We also have a spanking new Web site in the pipeline, with its own distinct identity and world-class content. Watch out for it.
